Wedding Flowers
It is rare to attend a wedding and not see flowers. A wedding just isn't complete without them. They are an integral part of wedding ceremonies because of the meaning that they hold, and the many different choices and colors they come in. Some common wedding flowers include orchids, roses, lilies, and daisies.
Oftentimes the color of the flowers during weddings compliments a certain color theme. For instance if all the bridesmaids are dressed in lavender, the floral decorations may compliment it with purple daisies. Brides and grooms often have flowers custom prepared for weddings, not uncommonly having well over a thousand individual flowers. Flowers are incorporated into many aspects of a wedding. Dining tables often have flowers as their centerpieces, and sometimes all the bridesmaids carry bouquets as well. Another type of flower arrangement that you may find at a wedding is a corsage, which is a flower design which is worn around the wrist. In some cultures this is worn by the mothers of the groom and the bride at the wedding. For all these reasons, many people spend a good amount of money when it comes to flowers on their wedding day.
In some parts of the world, it is customary for the bride to walk with a bouquet of flowers, and to throw it to a group of single women. The woman who catches it is believed to be the next in line to be wed. This is more of a fun ritual practiced by some at weddings.
